Allor! We made it to Lyon! Lyon delivered more than expected, largely because we didn’t really have any expectations, but mostly because of the people we stayed with.
It's been a roller coaster of a journey! We've met great people, cycled some flat roads, some hillier and spent 2 nights in a hotel with food poisoning!

We took a bit of a detour on this day because someone at our Airbnb recommended we head to Briare for the canal, it was so worth it!
Things are really looking up for us after we were unwell! We stayed in Lyon last night with Patrick and Claire , a lovely couple! We are with them again tonight and looking forward to another pleasant evening.
We set off from Dunkirk and ended up taking a train from Cassel’s to Arras as Stew pulled his Achilles tendon – ouch!!
Yesterday we were making our way to Lyon, We were happy to be back in the hills and we had the joy of a 10 mile descent. The sun was shining it was a great day. By the evening we started to feel a bit peaky!
Pleased to report it was much better than yesterday. Beautiful blue skies again with a nice breeze, maybe the head wind was a bit strong at times but well take that!
The skies are beautiful bright blue like a postcard picture The wind however is sharp and cold Seriously cold Ive not known a breeze like it since the Beast from the East in February 2018
