Welcome To Khiva

An old city in Uzbekistan, established 1,500 years ago. I’d seen pictures of Khiva, so I was excited to finally arrive. Finally we have something different to look at and explore, something more interesting than the flat lands of Uzbekistan.⁣

As soon as we arrived in Khiva we were wow’d by its beauty. Once we started exploring the city we were calmed by its gentle ambience. ⁣

Maybe it’s the time of year but Khiva is not packed with tourists and hustle and bustle as we expected. Early mornings are especially peaceful. ⁣

We’ve walked through the town, browsed through the stalls and soaked in the calm of Khiva.⁣

It’s a great place for a couple of rest days – and we have a lot more to explore. We will visit the museums, follow the interactive guides and walk along the city walls.⁣

There’s plenty to do in Khiva, and my expectations are the best bits of Khiva are free, but we’ll let you know!⁣
