Anarchy In The Uz.Bek.Stan

A quick lunch stop in a bus shelter turned into anarchy as we were joined by the school children!⁣

There were so many of them, joining us at our bikes. One young boy ran so quick he fell face down into a sand pile! He was alright though! 😄⁣

As I said in a previous post the behaviour of boys is the same wherever you go. Interestingly, so are girls!⁣

The boys run to the forefront, they’re ringing the bell, speaking and shouting – chanting hello. They’ve got their hands over the Garmin and they’re absolutely intrigued by everything! Cheeky devils! 😆 we were a little worried about them pulling the heavy bikes down – they’re not the most stable and Stew’s bike probably weighs 50kgs at the moment.⁣

The girls are much quieter, but equally intrigued. They’re more likely to stand at the back and gravitate towards me. They don’t touch anything, but they look in from the sidelines. Eventually they brave a hello and I respond enthusiastically hoping they’ll have more confidence next time.⁣

Boys in general seem to be much more forward, more go-getting, more cheeky. Girls are naturally curious of course, but they’re quieter in their approach. ⁣
