We Made It To Aus!
After 14,2000 miles of CYCLING, we made it to Australia from the UK. Wild.
To be honest, arriving in Aus just feels surreal. As I write this, we’ve been here for a little more than three weeks, and it still doesn’t feel real.
Every now and again, we take a moment to bring our minds into the present, and we usually say, ‘What on earth are we doing?’ as we cycle down a random street or road in Aus. It’s just overwhelming to think about.
Or, how did we actually ride a bike to Australia? Aus is such a huge milestone, and when we started in 2019, it felt like a lifetime away. Did we everything it was five years away (thanks to covid), well, no, we didn’t expect that at all, but hey, we made it.
Feeling cool felt wonderful after the hot, sweaty, and humid weather in South East Asia. It was a feeling I couldn’t wait for when out there.
To be honest, it was colder than I ever thought.
Being from the U.K., I didn’t really have a fair expectation of Aus. Before visiting here, Aus, to me, was desert, beaches, and bugs haha
Whilst I knew I was coming to Aus in winter, I didn’t realise just how cold it would be. Currently, I’m not sick of the cold, but I do wish it would stop raining.
That’s another unexpected discovery; it rains a lot in Aus! But, with rain, comes greenery, and Western Aus, around Perth, is green and beautiful. I can see why people move here.
