Leaving Liam’s Place And Cycling Into Perth
From Liam’s home, we made tracks to West Perth to stay with another friend.
The first day of cycling was a real treat, though I could feel the two bottles of red wine in my legs lol
We wore cycling shorts and a T-shirt with short sleeves. I hadn’t done that in Asia at all as the sun was so intense there. I was looking forward to not wearing a headband, but it turned out I did need that, not for the sweat in my eyes, but for the cold wind that gives me earache.
Perth was incredibly easy to cycle around, there’s basically a cycle path in every direction, but it does mean a lot of stopping and starting. Like most places, cars and vehicles take priority so you always have to wait at road crossings.
The wildlife is one of the major surprises. Every so often a bird swoops in front of us, but not a pigeon or a crow, a brightly colored parrot, which is just beautiful to see. The birds are beautiful with bright green or blue colorings and that doesn’t get boring.
