Ferry To The North Island
We were supposed to ride Blenheim to Picton and grab a ferry in one day, but we didn’t book our ferry in time so we had to spend a night in Picton instead.
That was alright because Picton has seaside town vibes, lots of goings on there. We actually arrived on a national holiday so there was music and cafes full of people. It was a nice afternoon.
We stayed in a motel then got up at 6am to catch the first ferry to Wellington. The ferry was easy, but more expensive than we expected at $168 (~£80) including a $20 fee for each bike. To be fair, it was about four hours and the ferry is pretty comfy with a kitchen/cafe, comfy chairs and even a little space to set up a laptop and do some work.
