Against All Odds We Got Our Wallet Back!

A commendable decision was made by this team working at 7-Eleven/Caltex.

They found our wallet with quite a lot of money in it, even by UK standards, £300 is a lot!

They collectively had three choices:

A. they could’ve done the honest thing and returned the wallet, cash intact.
B. They could’ve taken the money, or a portion of it, leaving the wallet only.
C. They could’ve never called me and taken the lot.

I think if we were all honest, we all might’ve scratched our heads over that one, with most of us leaning toward doing the right thing.

In Malaysia, the money in that wallet was a good wedge!

And these guys absolutely deserve the recognition for making such an integral, morally right, but difficult call.

And, Stew and I could not be more grateful. They would’ve known we were tourists, they would’ve known we were travelling, yet they choose to do what was right.

The woman in the middle thought fast to share WhatsApp and her efforts were absolutely integral in returning the wallet. The man on the left communicates with brilliant English which was so helpful.

The wallet was returned with all of the money inside and my card, too. They had kept it in a yellow bag and locked in a safe.

It is moments like this that make you realise that there is so much good out there.
