This Little Bike Ride

On the 31st March Zoe and I will be leaving Telford to try and circumnavigate the planet on our bikes. We’ll be attempting to cycle a complete loop around the world covering…

  • 24,000 miles
  • Crossing 25 countries
  • Ascending more than 500,000 feet
  • Climbing to a max elevation of 12,500 feet in the Rocky Mountains
  • and crossing pretty much every type of terrain imaginable…

Our journey will initially take us from Telford down to Dover and across the channel to Dunkirk. From Dunkirk we’ll head to Paris where our official circumnavigation will begin. Over the next one and half to two and a half years well cross France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Portugal and Spain before returning back to the l’arc de triomphe in Paris to complete the journey.

The journey will be unsupported, meaning it will be just me, Zoe and our bikes. We won’t have a support team following or waiting for us and we’ll be carrying everything we need to survive on our bikes.

We hope to be spending most nights in hostels, hotels or B&Bs but we expect to end up in our tent on plenty of nights as well. We’re forced to pack as light and as minimalist as possible which means 2 pairs of pants for 2 years of travel. #Luxury
