The Great Ocean Road
The Great Ocean Road wasn’t on my map at all before we left the UK for the second time.
One of my besties was cutting my hair and looking at our route. She used to live in Melbourne so knew that part of Aus really well.
I told her I wasn’t expecting much from Aus. and back then I wasn’t. Aus far exceeded my expectations.
She assured me that we’d have an amazing time and asked if we were doing the Great Ocean Road. I checked the route and googled pics. We would be riding that route.
Ever since, I could not wait to get there. In England, Great Ocean Road felt a lifetime away but here we are…already!
The road was absolutely gorgeous. At one point we were thinking to cycle another route to avoid colder temperatures but as soon as we laid eyes on Great Ocean Road I was so glad to be there.
On route you pass the 12 apostles; 45m (150ft) tall, limestone pillars that were once connected to the mainland cliffs. Though I don’t think there are 12 anymore 😅
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
