Slovenia Is Unbelievably Beautiful
The mountains still have snowy tops and the hills are just beautiful.
If there was one image I had in my head for what I wanted this trip to be, this was pretty much it. This is what we were looking for and this is what we were missing for bits of Italy.
We’ve been very lucky in Slovenia, if it wasn’t for Marko who we stayed with on our first night our route would’ve looked quite different.
The hills feel new to me again and my legs are aching!! Stew said his are fine! I’ve slowed down quite a bit, but I don’t mind. This trip will only get hillier and it’s nice to be challenged again. I feel a bit nervous about what’s ahead, but in a good way; I’m excited and inspired.
We booked a hostel tonight, earlier we cycled there to find it wasn’t open! We sat on the steps trying to call the hostel, then hotels.com. Finally someone from the hostel saw us, apologised and explained the hostel was shut for renovation. He told us not to worry, he pointed us to the direction of their sister-hostel just 6 miles away. They honoured the room we should’ve had in the other hostel, but threw in a private bathroom and a breakfast!
Twin beds again, so we pushed them together! 🤣
Happy it all worked out alright 😊
