Santiago To Olume
Pictures taken on our cycling adventure between Santiago and Olume.
A fairly good climb to start us off, we climbed 2,916ft (888 metres) and hit an elevation of 4,118ft (1255 meters).
We’re thankful we had some time in eastern Aus and New Zealand to give us some challenges and condition our bodies ready for these climbs.
As always, at the top of any great pass: gorgeous views and a photo opportunity to celebrate our achievement.
Then, a proper good downhill! 🚴♂️🚴♀️

First impressions of South America are very positive!
We really, really like it here.
People feel kind and welcoming.
It helps a lot that we can speak a little Spanish and it feels good to get closer to communications with the locals 🥰
The vibe of South America feels quite chill. Shops and cafes often don’t open until 11am, shops close during the hottest part of the day and open later.
On our first day I got into a pickle on my bike and was just being a bit slow. The van behind me just patiently waited as I sorted myself out. He definitely didn’t need to, but I appreciated it. Very patient indeed.
