Packing Up And Heading Back To Vietnam
Twice in the last two months Stew and I have closed a chapter.
First, we moved out of our lovely home in the Scottish Highlands. We shifted all of our stuff out the house and 400 miles across the country. We shoved it in storage and moved into an AirBnB.
Yesterday, we stood in our home as we closed the second chapter, our 6 week stay in Shropshire had come to an end; a rapid chapter full of family and friends, lots of good food (and drink 🥂), heaps of laughter and some overdue reunions with the most special people in our life.
Stew’s brother is looking after our car. Last night he left our AirBnB with it and we waved him goodbye.
The car was our last big thing to sort and with it gone we faced that familiar feeling of owning nothing.
Stew said, ‘I feel really weird about owning nothing this time.’ His words echoed in the now empty AirBnB.
Those last words as you close the door – you know that echo – it’s is a familiar sound; the sound of a chapter ending, an exciting new beginning on the horizon with a hint of nostalgia.
The next morning, my mum, Stews mum and even our AirBnB hosts paid us a final visit before the taxi picked us up and we made it to Manchester Airport where we’re staying for a night; travelling life had began and after 3 full years in limbo we’re so bloody ready for it.
Next: Manchester to Dubai, Dubai to a Vietnam.
Let’s go! ✈️
