JOGLE Day 12: Wigan To Coxbank
Wigan to Coxbank
Today was the calm before the storm – a lovely little tootle, just 60 Miles covered today.
It was a lovely route. We started late as it was a shorter one, cycled from Wigan through the beautiful Cheshire Countryside, everything is starting to look a little more like home now and I can’t wait to cross over into Shropshire tomorrow.
We took our time and had a couple of scenic breaks for food – one being at a canal next to the narrow boats. We shared a flapjack and a peanut butter cake – both very good !
We checked in to our Air BnB and we have THE BEST host! She’s already done LEJOG and she did it in 8 days! Not only this, but she’s completed numerous Ironman triathlons and, get this – ultra triathlons including a 10 day triathlon where you do an Ironman every single day…for those that don’t know that’s a 2.4 mile swim in open water, 112 miles on a bike and a 26.2 mile run (a full marathon!!). What an inspiration!
If you’re cycling through/near Cox Bank I highly recommend staying with Monique on Airbnb.
Our work starts tomorrow! Roughly 80 miles a day, the hot weather, and the hills of Devon and Cornwall to come. I’m feeling excited about it and tomorrow we come straight through Ludlow at around 3pm! Hope we make it to Hereford in time for the game!!!
