Bukhara, Uzbekistan
From a visual standpoint Bukhara and Khiva look very similar. Bukhara is much bigger and more populated, but still manages some of the tranquility I wrote about in Khiva.
Both are very beautiful places, we would return to Khiva – mostly to see the family we met there and see how things have changed. There was a lot of construction work going on in Khiva when we were there and I’d be curious to see what changes. I’d go back to Khiva too for the dance festival – that looked amazing!
I think Bukhara has a lot to offer and we would come back here again. I think we could easily spend another few nights in Bukhara and find new things to do and explore.
Over the last couple of days we enjoyed walking around Bukhara. The most beautiful sight was probably the golden minaret at night, which lights up beautifully.
We leave for Samarkand today and I can’t wait to see see it.
