Train Street, Hanoi
Here we are on Train Street, Hanoi.
I’m posting this picture just because I really like it.
I like that Stew’s mum managed to capture us in the moment; eagerly awaiting the train to come rushing by while we ate dinner.
We were lucky to stumble upon Train Street. I had no idea it was even in Hanoi until my dad mentioned it.
As soon as he said we should visit Train Street I knew what it looked like because a friend of mine had a picture of himself there and I always thought it was cool, but never got round to asking him where it was taken.
We intended to visit the famous street, but we hadn’t realised how close we were until we hit the tracks one evening. It was perfect timing because we had time to spare and the train was due to pass in 45 minutes. We decided to stop and have dinner before we went to the water puppet show.
The train whizzed by about 10 minutes after its expected time of arrival. It’s quite a surreal moment! The train comes so close we could’ve touched it (wouldn’t recommend that tho 😆).
Apparently they threatened to close it in 2019, but I’m glad it was still open so we could have that experience. I really enjoyed it and I’m tempted to go back one more time before we leave.
We’ve been a bit naughty and booked our apartment for another 2 nights. This rest is just too good to walk away from at this moment.
