Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

When the weather was forecast at it’s best we decided to seize the opportunity and visit Ha Long Bay.⁣

Like purchasing anything in Hanoi – it’s worth shopping around, the bus from Hanoi to Ha Long and the 6 hour tour was priced between $40 – $48 and the booklet says $65. To be honest, whatever you pay between there you won’t be left disappointed, because the experience is worth it, even on a cloudy day.⁣

The bus ride took about 3 hours with one break. As soon as we got on the boat we sat down on a table for 6 and shared lunch with a coupe of Vietnamese men. Lunch was delicious Vietnamese cuisine – an array of fresh sea food, chicken, noodles rice and vegetables. The dishes just kept coming and we couldn’t believe how much food there was!⁣

On the 6 hour cruise you have 3 activities – which is A LOT in 6 hours – maybe too much. I did feel like I was being moved around a bit too quick, but it was good to get it all in. ⁣

We kayaked near the bay and saw monkeys! They monkeys were fed bananas on arrival so we could see them eating on the beaches. We absolutely loved the kayaking and Stew is really keen for us to do it again sometime.⁣

We explored Thien Cung cave by foot, which was enjoyable – from memory they gave us about 40 minutes to do that and finally we went on a little hike to look over Ha Long Bay from up a mountain – another 30 minutes. The time to do the activities was basically just enough time – once you were up the mountain you were already thinking about coming back down. ⁣

As I said the 6hour tour is a little rushed, but we would highly recommend it. If you can do a small cruise – even better. If ever I came back I would definitely do a longer cruise of 2 – 3 nights. @ Halong Bay Vietnam – Du Lịch Vịnh Hạ Long
