Meet Mustafa!
Mustafa was our warmshowers host in Rize, he was recommended to us by @cycling_east
Mustafa has a lovely and very popular cafe in Rize. When we arrived men were playing a popular Turkish games. I’m not sure what it’s called but it looks a bit like dominoes.
Mustafa is a great cyclist and runs the cycling club in Rize. We did have some bike-envy looking at his bicycles!
In his cafe Mustafa proudly hangs certificates and medals – some for his brilliant cycling achievements and other for his successful cafe.
We enjoyed an evening in Mustafa’s cafe, communicating with his customers who were all very used to English cyclists visiting. They made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and cafe guests knew exactly where we should store our bikes and luggage – they’d definitely done this before!
We were offered plenty of çay – all grown in Rize.
