Leanne Brownhill Memorial Fund Update
Today Lynne Brownhill shared the total money raised in the Leanne Brownhill Memorial fund – we have now smashed £15,000 – this is a collective effort between Leanne’s friends and family since 2013.
You can see the bike ride has prompted some very generous donations recently – and I can’t tell you how grateful we are to all of you who have donated.
It fills me with great pleasure to see that we are doing good work in loving memory of my very special friend.
Cycling for Cardiac Risk in the Young is our pleasure – not only are we supporting an amazing charity, but on a personal level this gives the bike ride another purpose, something we can aim for – another layer of depth to the ride. I love thinking and remembering my good friend and spreading awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADs), which has already devastated too many lives.
The current total raised in Leanne’s memorial fund is £15,368.81 and over the next 18 months I would LOVE to raise another £4305.00 to reach a total of £5,000. In September we have an annual ball where we get together in Ludlow, Shropshire, raise glass to Leanne and dance like no one is watching. These balls have raised around £1000 each year.
If those who hear about Road to Frame are able to help us reach our target and the summer balls go out with a bang – as they always do, in 2 years and by the time Stew and I get home we could be looking at close to £20,000 raised in the Leanne Brownhill memorial fund.
If you can spare a donation, please do – it touches us personally, and on a national level we are all contributing to a truly wonderful charity who are dedicated to lowering SADs in the UK’s young people. They work hard, they find heart abnormalities in 1 in 300 people screened. CRY’s research contributes globally to lowering SADs and whilst all of this is happening they are still supportive to individual families. This is what I love so much about CRY – they support the UK’s young people, but they care so deeply for each individual family impacted by the tragedy that is cardiac arrest or sudden adult death syndrome.

Please note: the trip has been paid for in FULL by Stew and I and not a penny of money donated to CRY will pay towards our trip. The bike ride was happening anyway and we will not take from the charity. We will also find a way to pay any fees incurred from using Virgin Money Giving. The charity will receive every penny of your money.
Many thanks to all who have donated, all who share our posts, those who have shared their own experiences with CRY (coming to the blog soon!) and to all who are here for support when we need it! ❤️
