Istanbul, Where West Meets East.
A city of 2 halves, a place where West meets East.
We stayed in Istanbul for 6 nights. The longest stop to date. We were joined by our mums and my brother who flew out to meet us.
My favourite thing about Istanbul is that it is a city by the sea. I loved the city views from our Bosphorus boat tour and the views from the top of the Galata Tower.
We explored Istanbul with our family visiting the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar, The Galata Tower – we visited the East and west side and best of all we jumped (fully clothed) into the sea on the south coast. Fantastic memories were made during our stay in Istanbul and I loved it.
As far as cities are concerned, Istanbul is not my favourite. I just wasn’t wow’d by most of the tourist attractions. 😕
Despite this, would I go back to Istanbul – yes of course, I’ve only seen a little bit of it, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. It didn’t capture my heart in quite the same way that London, Arras, Paris, Venice, Skopje and Plovdiv did.
