Halfway Across Australia

After Ceduna, our next major milestone was a town called Kimba.

Kimba marks HALFWAY ACROSS AUSTRAILIA.

Woah!

We didn’t realise there was anything here until someone at a caravan park said that we should look out for the big sign in Kimba It was so huge it was hard to get us and the sign in.

Perth to Kimba, along our route was 1,700 miles.

It blows my mind to think we’ve cycled that many miles in one country.

In fact, the total distance across Aus is 3,340 miles. That same distance, starting from the UK took us roughly one quarter of the entire first trip and got us all the way to Turkey, via 13 countries.

When we got to Aus, I knew the country was big, I knew it would take at least two months to get through, but you can never really understand quite how big a place is until you’ve tried to travel across it.

We keep thinking about how worn our kit looks compared to last time, but then, this trip just *feels* shorter because weve done so fee countries comparatively to the first half because of the size of Aus.
