Azerbaijan, I Love It Here
I took this video a few days ago, but I haven’t had the chance to post it due to WiFi. I took this before we reached the desert section.
I think a lot of cyclists come to Azerbaijan to go to Baku and that’s kind of it…it feels to me like to others Azerbaijan is just the country to get across the Caspian Sea, but I think it has so much more 😍
Interestingly, this is the one country where Stew and I have almost contrasting views. I absolutely love it and would return in a heartbeat, whereas he’s much less enthused. He’s enjoying the ride, doesn’t like the food and probably wouldn’t return.
From the video: “I feel like Azerbaijan is one of the most underrated countries to cycle through. I think it gets desert-y later. That’s the only bit I’ve seen on people’s social media. You’ve got beautiful greenery (behind me now) and mountains in the distance. The food is fantastic I love it. The hospitality, the people are really wonderful. I feel like no ones talking about that side of Azerbaijan. I love it here.”
