A Roadside Breakfast

Breakfast, somewhere along the west Australian desert. We’ve cycled here from the UK and that is pretty mind-blowing, even for us and we did the pedalling.

This is early on, maybe day one or two, because it was cool enough that bacon and eggs could stay cool in the pannier.

It was 08:05 and I remember it was so cold until this point. You can tell by the layers we’re wearing.

The sun had just started to come up and we felt the heat on our faces.

We’d already cycled an hour or two in the darkness and were waiting for the daylight, mostly some heat, so we could stop for breakfast: bacon and egg sandwiches and a hot cup of tea, cooked on the side of the road with our gas stove that we carry.

While here, I took a moment to spare to what I’d normally be doing at this hour, eating eggs on toast at the dining table before the working day begins.
