Meet Jörg, Angela And Teinhard

Laos and Vietnam have been good countries for meeting other travellers and cyclists, meet Jörg, Angela and Teinhard.⁣

We’d cycled from Vietnam to Laos with Jörg, a German cyclist who’d had the same visa problem as us. We met him in the hotel on the Vietnamese side. As we were heading to the same village in Laos we made dinner plans that night. As it happens we set off at the same time and cycled in close quarters all the way.⁣

In the guesthouse (the one on the river) we met Angela and Teinhard, also from Germany. Within 5 minutes of speaking with Teinhard he’d persuaded us to stay in the guest house for two nights. He told us about the caves which were a must-visit and an Indian restaurant! ⁣

We all went out for dinner and beers that evening and shared breakfast together the next day. Angela and Teinhard gave us some pointers for the roads ahead including places to stay and places we must visit. ⁣

We visited the caves with Jörg the next day and then we cycled together for another 2 days. ⁣

On the final night we ended up the three of us sleeping on the floor in one room of a guesthouse.😳 ⁣

It turned out the one guesthouse we’d planned to visit was full – there must’ve only been one room which was occupied by a French traveller called Theo.⁣

We only recently separated from Jörg but we’re hoping to see him again before we leave Laos behind us! 🤞🏼 ⁣
