The best thing about a cycle tour?

Not knowing where you will end up or what you will find on route.

This little cafe was a gem of a find today! At 40 miles in it was just on the side of the road so we popped in and what a surprise we got.

They serve asado (bbq’d meats), salads and vegetables.

Asado is very popular in Argentina and we love it 😋

In this restaurant, the meat just keeps coming. It was served to us on a large plate and we take what we want. Salad and vegetables you help yourself to and every so often, various meat is offered.

It was chefs kisses 🤌🏼

We ate plenty and were very full, but when the meat came around again, the man absolutely insisted we tried one particular piece.

We were so full, I said no to begin with, and the man serving walked away, but he definitely wanted us to have some, and he called him back.

I couldn’t tell what he said exactly but, “just a bit” haha, so we did try it.

With the language barrier, I couldn’t get what it was, but Stew said he caught it was a speciality meat there. It was really good!

You find yourselves in all sorts of places, perhaps places you would not normally walk into, especially when you’re surrounded by familiarity or comforts you know well.

The other day we ordered Asado and I could not tell you what we ate, definitely a lot of familiar meat: steak, chicken, black pudding… and some not so familiar meats, I’m pretty sure some liver, and other organ meats that I dunno what it was 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

The thing with cycling around the world is you really do end up in the most special places, and I love living a life where there is something new most days.

How we will return to “normal” life, I do not know 😬
