This Little Bike Ride

This Little Bike Ride

On the 31st March Zoe and I will be leaving Telford to try and circumnavigate the planet on our bikes. We’ll be attempting to cycle a complete loop around the world covering…

  • 24,000 miles
  • Crossing 25 countries
  • Ascending more than 500,000 feet
  • Climbing to a max elevation of 12,500 feet  in the Rocky Mountains
  • and crossing pretty much every type of terrain imaginable…

Our journey will initially take us from Telford down to Dover and across the channel to Dunkirk. From Dunkirk we’ll head to Paris where our official circumnavigation will begin. Over the next one and half to two and a half years well cross France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Portugal and Spain before returning back to the l’arc de triomphe in Paris to complete the journey.

The journey will be unsupported, meaning it will be just me, Zoe and our bikes. We won’t have a support team following or waiting for us and we’ll be carrying everything we need to survive on our bikes.

We hope to be spending most nights in hostels, hotels or B&Bs but we expect to end up in our tent on plenty of nights as well. We’re forced to pack as light and as minimalist as possible which means 2 pairs of pants for 2 years of travel. #Luxury

We're Zoe & Stewart and we've been cycling around the world since March 2019.

This blog was born in 2017 when Stew cycled a 2,500 mile, solo John O' Groats to Land's End (JOGLE) along the west coast of the UK.

At the time Stew was planning a world cycling tour for his 30th birthday, but his plans changed when he met me and invited me along on this trip of a lifetime. I took no hesitation in saying "YES I'd love to come". We quickly threw ourselves into a 1,022 mile bike tour of the UK to make sure I enjoyed it - needless to say - I love it!

We've since cycled over 20 countries together and I love to share our adventures on this blog.

You can also download our tried and tested routes, and soon we're bringing you gear reviews, guides, bike equipment lists, reviews and more.

I hope you enjoy the blog!
